Going off to war is difficult for all parties involved. It's difficult for the one who has to leave his friends and family behind, and it's just as rough for them as they wait and hope that their deployed loved one comes back home. Sometimes it's easy to forget that humans aren't the only ones who think this way. Pets also share these emotional bonds with their owners, and it can be just as rough for them as it is for us.
All of this is why it's so great to see a video like the one below. This member of the armed forces is returning home after being away, and one of the first things he gets when he's home is a tremendous amount of love from his dog. They say that dogs are a man's best friend, and after watching this video, I think I'm inclined to agree with that.
