College is an exciting time for young adults to expand their knowledge and gain life experiences. Often times the college years are when people find out who they really are, and more importantly, form into the type of person they want to be. In this particular instance, two college students in their 30s were about to learn more about themselves than they ever could have anticipated.
During class orientation, these two Columbia students made the shocking discovery that they were, in fact, long-lost sisters. When Lizzie Valverde mentioned to the class that she was adopted, Katie Olson's curiosity about her new classmate peaked.
Both Katie and Lizzie were given up for adoption as small children, but Katie had been searching for her long lost sister ever since. What are the odds that the two would end up in the same class, years later when they were in their 30s? Well, no matter how astronomical the odds actually were, these two sisters miraculously beat them. Now all that's left is to begin a lifetime of catching up, and building a new lifetime of memories together.
This story legitimately blew me away, and to be honest I still can't quite wrap my head around it. Can you believe something like this is happened? How can you explain two sisters being separated for so long and reuniting in this bizarre way? We'd love to hear your thoughts on this incredible event.
