The dad in this video knows exactly how to cheer up his baby girl when she's feeling upset. He sets up a camera in a bedroom and puts on the music to Sam Cooke's classic song "A Change Is Gonna Come." As soon as the music fills the room, Dad is belting the words to the song in a soulful and mesmerizing way. It's obvious from watching the video that the little girl loves spending time with her dad in this way. I wonder if she'll grow up with a love for singing like her dad.
I love seeing the different methods that parents use to soothe their children and help make them feel better. I don't have nearly as good a voice as the dad in this video, so I don't know how effective my singing would be in calming down children. There are a number of other ways that parents can soothe their kids that don't require good vocals, though. According to an article published by the
Huffington Post, engaging in certain activities with children can help relieve stress and calm them down. Some of the activities listed in that article include: finding things to do outside, creative expression through art, and even inviting kids to participate in a few yoga stretches.
