There are a number of milestones during a pregnancy that are worth celebrating - sharing the news with family and friends, the first ultrasound, discovering the baby's gender, and so forth. For the happy couple, it's as if each day is a milestone, as the baby grows and nears his or her birth date with each passing moment. There's a point where Mom and Dad start to prep the nursery for their unborn child and buy a few outfits. They get attention not only from their closest friends and family, but also from random strangers on the street who may just want to rub Mom's belly. Danielle Barkley and her husband went through all of this as they prepared for the birth of their daughter, Lydia Jaelle. But tragically, Lydia never got to wear the outfits that had been picked out for her, and she never got to spend a night in her crib. She was born stillborn at 30 weeks, leaving Mom and Dad with a crushing feeling, left to wonder about what could have been.
To honor Lydia, Danielle put together a slideshow of several precious moments from her pregnancy. Danielle also wanted to raise awareness about stillbirth, as nearly three million babies are stillborn in a given year around the world. What did you think of Danielle's touching tribute to her daughter Lydia?
