One of the most classic father/son activities is playing catch. It develops basic motor skills and creates a venue for the two to bond. Anthony Amore of Geneva, Illinois was excited  to get a chance to throw out the first pitch at a Kane City Cougars game in early August. Little did Anthony know that he was in for quality time with his father as well.

Because the catcher that Anthony was throwing to was not the usual catcher. He was, in fact, Joe Amore — Anthony's father, who had been serving in the military overseas but had returned unbeknownst to the boy. After Anthony threw his pitch, his father removed his mask and the two had a loving embrace. Joe wanted to surprise him like this because he told reporters that "sports is everything" between the father and son.
