When I was a kid, I would wonder about people who used gear to catch fish — it always seemed like it'd be more fulfilling to catch one with your hands. As I got older, I realized that people use fishing rods because the hands-only method rarely works. More importantly, you'll likely expend a week's worth of energy to find a day's worth of food.
This kid's got enough energy to spare, though, and he hasn't yet caught on to the whole "bait" thing. It's a simple battle of wits between this boy and a fish, and I'll be honest — I was a bit surprised at how it turned out. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure her little boy is plenty smarter than a fish, but you know how these things usually go.
