On June 24th, Courtney Colvin of Jacksonville, Florida, posted a video of her son and dog peacefully playing with one another. In the clip, Freyja, the 2-year-old German Shepherd, has a grip on one of Jackson's toys, much to the delight of the 5-month-old. When Courtney heard her son giggling with joy, she knew it was a moment worth capturing. While it's common for pet owners to post videos like these, this one seems especially candid. It also demonstrates a healthy relationship between dog and baby.

German Shepherds are notorious for being excellent family dogs. They are loyal, protective, and obedient. According to vetSTREET, German Shepherds are great with children, but it's important that they socialize early on. That way, the pup can grow up to be a lifelong companion for the child. In the video below, it's apparent that these two are well on their way to becoming great friends.
