Age ain't nothin' but a number and nobody proves it better than this elderly couple. Watch as these spry partners strut their stuff on the dance floor with a slew of incredible moves, demonstrating that regardless of how old you are, it's still possible to let loose and have fun. We only hope we'll be living this joyfully (not to mention being able to dance this well) as we get older.
As if their pure, visible happiness wasn't enough to peel you out of your chair, MedicineNet reports that exercise can also improve cognitive function in the elderly. Studies have shown that the fittest senior citizens have more brain tissue than their sedentary counterparts, whose brain tissue density declines with age and therefore affects thinking and memory. These MRI scans have also found that brain cells actually increase in number after a person begins exercising regularly.
That's right: walking, dancing, swimming, or whatever physical activity you like best can actually make you a sharper (and assumably happier) person as life goes on! If these elderly dancers aren't proof of that, we don't know who is. What did you think of their performance?
