Being a single parent is one of the hardest, thankless jobs that a person can have. It often comes with financial strain, increased stress, less rest, and many times you're forced to make hard decisions on your own. At the end of the day, there's nobody there to pat you on the back and tell you that you're doing a good job.
Given all that, I can't imagine the happiness that the father who submitted the photo below must have felt when he received a note from complete strangers complimenting him on his parenting skills. The final paragraph of the note reads, "From two adults who grew up without dads, it's so important to have a male role model at a young age."
The samaritans who wrote the note ended up paying for the father's meal. The father, who was taking his daughter out for a meal on valentines day, later wrote that when he read the note he couldn't help but tear up at the table. Sometimes, it's the little pieces of appreciation that stick with us for years and years.
